English
Narrative
We will be working towards writing our own adventure story based on Grandad's Island.
Focus
· Ensuring all letters are formed correctly and are consistent in size.
· Ensuring sentences are punctuated using capital letters and full stops.

Science
We will be learning about trees and plants.

Geography
We will re-cap on our prior knowledge of using a globe to locate the land and sea.
We will be learning the names and locations of the seas surrounding the UK.
We will learn how to locate Whitby on a map.
We will name some of the human and physical features of the coast.
Art
In Art we will explore the work of some architects such as Hundertwasser.
We will discuss what we like about different architecture and what is interesting about them.
We will explore being an architect and create our own model or building.
RE
We will be learning about some of the stories Jesus told and why these are important to Christians today.
Music
We will be exploring pitch, volume, rhythm, pulse, loudness and speed using a program called 'Charanga'

PE - Invasion games
PE is on Monday's this half-term.
Please ensure your child has a white t-shirt, tracksuit trousers/leggings, a sweatshirt and trainers/pumps.
It’s useful to leave your child’s PE kit in school all week (or all half term) just in case the day has to change last minute. Please name all pieces of clothing.
Homework
Homework will be set each Friday and is to be handed in by the following Wednesday. The children have a list of homework pages in the front of their Maths homework books.
Reading
Reading books will be changed every week. Please write in your child's diary each time they read at home so they can earn reading points! This should be at least 3 times a week!
Spelling test
Spelling test will be every Monday morning.
